Climate in the Pulpits, on the Bimah, in the Minbar 2026: Healthy People, Healing Planet

Climate in the Pulpits, on the Bimah, and in the Minbar begins on October 1st and ends on December 15th. This year's theme is "Healthy People, Healing Planet."

Everyone deserves to have access to fresh air and clean water. People around the world and in our communities are feeling the impacts of climate disruption, and continued access to these basic life-sustaining elements is tenuous for many of our neighbors. If we want to live in a world where people and planet can thrive, we need people of faith to take up the calling to educate one another and take meaningful action to advance climate and environmental justice.

We are inviting pastors, rabbis, imams, and all faith and spiritual leaders to schedule worship services, sermons, events, lessons, and/or a day(s) of action to teach about climate and environmental justice within their faith communities. Faith and spiritual leaders have great influence through preaching, teaching, and leading their members to care for Creation and advocate for climate and environmental justice. We can all work together to prioritize people and planet over profit and power. It is imperative, now more than ever, that people of faith hear this urgent yet hopeful message from their spiritual leaders.
